New Year, Old Content

New Year, Old Content

Post great content, they say! Prove your expertise on your social channels! Make videos, write blogs, post pictures, create a story, make a reel…

The thought of trying to create all of that while trying to do all of the other tasks your job requires can be so overwhelming.

So, here’s a pro tip: Reuse your old content!!

That video you spent hours writing, recording and editing? Turn it into graphics that have tips from your video, but as easy to read phrases or bullet points.

Use your popular reels as Throwback Thursday posts.

Reshare your answers to FAQs because if it’s been a while, your new followers will have the same questions your other followers did.

Share snippets from your website blogs instead of sharing the whole article.

The bad news with social is that only about 5% of your audience is being reached organically by your channel. The good news is only about 5% of your audience has seen the content you’ve posted, so feel free to reshare it!

Changing up the time or day you post older content can help too. Maybe put a few ad dollars on a post that you know people would like if you could just get them to see it. Or put some spend on the posts that seem to get a bit more engagement than usual.

If a post did really well as an ad, try it organically, too.

The bottom line is, by incorporating some content from the year(s) past, you’ll relieve some of the stress that comes along with constantly cranking out new ideas. Try sprinkling in some re-used or re-worked posts and see how it helps your social strategy!
