Blogs can take a lot of time to write. Sometimes there is research involved and copy editing and finding the right picture or making an infographic or recording video… And then after you’ve spent hours on this amazing piece of content, it might get shared once or twice and then not viewed again.
But you can change that! Breaking your blog down into mini- bites or short blurbs for social media are a great way to repurpose and put new life into a topic that might not have gotten as much love as it deserved. Plus, it gives us social media marketers a whole boat load of content ideas.
We’ve changed up some of our blogs to show you examples of how you can turn them into posts. Remember that each post should have a compelling image along with it. Your snippets could be turned into graphics or even a video. Be creative!
Here are the 3 ideas we’ve used as examples to show you how to edit and pare down from blog to post:
- Turn a paragraph from one blog into bullet points or a numbered list:
- Create a Miniseries of posts for a few days in row with a branded hashtag. This works well when your original blog had a list of points or tips.
- Turn a blog topic into a question-and-answer post. When you have a realllly long blog post, you can simplify your explanations for a quite bit of info.
We hope these tips allow you to easily convert your blogs into social media posts. Remember, that no one wants to read a big, long essay on social. If you just think about breaking your blogs down into bite-size pieces, repurposing them should work out great for your engagement!
