March is full of Social Media “Holidays.” Although sometimes cheesy, these national, international, regional and internet days can be fun to incorporate into your business’ social strategy. The Facebook post planner has some great ideas, or you can try one of these for your March content calendar in 2022.
March 10th – Mario Day (Mar10)
See how the date itself spells our Mario? If you didn’t know, Mario is a fictional character created by Japanese video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. He has been featured in hundreds of video games, often with his fictional brother, Luigi. Anyone who has played video games since 1981 has most likely played as the Mario character a few times.
For this day, you could create a fun video inspired by Mario saving the Princess (or maybe she’s in a different castle) OR surprise your employees by setting up a Mario Kart Tournament. This is a great day for Technology businesses across the board.
March 11th – National Promposal Day
First, let’s define Promposal. It’s the trend sweeping high schools across the US where teenager one asks teenager two to prom via an engagement style proposal, sans the expensive ring.
You could use this inspiration to create a fun “Promposal” video to encourage people to visit your site or to attend an upcoming event or stop into your store. Get down on one knee, organize a flash mob, write it in rose petals… anything to catch the eye of your audience!
March 14th- Pi Day (π=3.14)
Now, we’re talking Pi, as in the Greek letter that is a constant value used in math that represents the ratio of a circumference of a circle to its diameter, which is just about 3.14….15…9265359…(and on and on forever).
Luckily math has been made more fun by using a play on words. This is a great day to share some pie, like the kind you eat. Post pictures of pies made by your employees and have your followers vote on the best one, surprise your staff with pie and go live when it arrives, or maybe your CEO is willing to get a pie in the face… anything is possible when you involve delicious pie. Tie it into your business and you’re bound to get some engagement because people love food posts.
We hope you’ll have some fun with your social media strategy this month and really get your audience engaged!
