Tell Your Audience What They Want to Hear

Tell Your Audience What They Want to Hear

Posting content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube that satisfies the interests and questions of your audience is the best possible way to keep them coming back for more. You’ll find you get more engagement, including reactions and comments if your content is tailored to your followers. And it’s way better than just guessing!

That’s great! But how do you figure out what they want to hear?

Not to worry. We’ve compiled a list of ways for you to determine what your social media users might want to know more about:

  1. Look at your current posts.

Which ones get more engagement? If every time you post about a product with a short video, you get comments and likes, keep doing that. If a certain type of posts gets conversations started, keep doing that. Focus on engagement vs reach when looking at this data and be sure to factor in any ads you may have been running.

  1. Check your website analytics.

On a monthly basis, review your analytics and see which pages are getting hit the most as well as where people spend the longest amount of time. Use those topics and turn them into social media posts. We often find 2 or 3 of our blogs show up time and time again in our top ten pages, so we know people want to know about that information.

  1. Refer back to your frequently asked questions.

Your FAQs can literally run your social media. What do people ask about when they come into your store? What’s the service they inquire about over the phone? Which product gets the most assembly questions? What process in ordering to people get stuck on? All of this info can be turned into amazing social media content and used in many ways via Reels, Stories and videos.

  1. Follow the User Generated Content.

The “what”, you say? User generated content is the “stuff” that social media users are posting about your business. You may search your product, service or industry and just see what people are saying and asking. We’ve written a comprehensive blog about user generated content HERE.

If you begin to review these areas on a regular basis, you’ll find you have a gold mine of information to share with your clients and customers via social. This content translates beautifully into email newsletters, as well!
